Meet our Founder: Randi

Hi there! I’m Randi.

The H.T.I.C. (Head Traveler In Charge) at Black On Arrival. Pittsburgh native. Global citizen.

It all began with a study abroad trip to Santiago, Costa Rica. For three months, I frolicked around the country, beach to beach, hostel to hostel, and new experience to new experience. After saying “This is my first time doing xyz,” for the fifty-leventh time, one of my study abroad-mates suggested I keep a list of new things I tried in Costa Rica, and by the end of the 3 months, I had a list of 21 things.

I had been bitten by the travel bug. And I was forever changed.

Since then, I’ve lived in and/or traveled to 20 countries and have learned the insane amount of value in travel along the way.

Now, I share my travel stories, experiences, and lessons on YouTube and help others create their own life-enriching travel experiences through curating custom travel itineraries for clients and hosting thoughtfully designed group trips.

Our mission is simple: to empower Black women to reclaim joy and freedom by living abroad—without the guesswork, isolation, or fear of starting over.

We do this because we know what it’s like to feel trapped in burnout, to long for something more, and to want proof that a different life is possible.

Black On Arrival is here to remind you: you don’t just arrive in a new country—you arrive back to yourself.
